Actor, Graphic Designer
Zoë de Ocampo is a performer and graphic designer focused on trans and queer narratives. They graduated from Ateneo in 2021 with degrees in Information Design and Theatre Arts, and was twice a recipient of the Loyola Schools Award for the Arts (for Performance and Visual Arts). Zo is an alumnus of Tanghalang Ateneo, to whom they owe much of their training.
Zo was last seen on-stage as Boy in Rafael Jimenez’ Patintero sa Ayala Avenue for CAST PH in 2024. Their other recent work include Todd in Caryl Churchill’s Far Away (dir. Giancarlo Abrahan, Mad Child Productions), Z in Guelan Luarca’s Ardór (dir. Guelan Luarca, Tanghalang Ateneo), Batang M in M Manalastas’ Ang Tuyom (dir. Gio Potes, Virgin Labfest 18), Kasiping in Guelan Luarca’s Nekropolis (dir. Charles Yee, Tanghalang Pilipino), Pilar and Juliana in Peter Mayshle’s Dolorosa (dir. Jenny Jamora, Tanghalang Ateneo).
Zo is a partner and co-producer of the QC-based theater group, Mad Child Productions. He likewise directed company’s maiden production, Ang Kudegra ng Dalawang Bakla, a queer reimagining of Edgar Allan Poe’s Cask of Amontillado by Iago Guballa in 2023. He also co-directed Claro De Los Reyes’ Mongoloida’s Casa De Pun with Guelan Luarca for the Virgin Labfest in 2020.
Having begun with a background in visual arts, Zo has served as the graphic designer for various productions locally and abroad. They most recently rebuilt the visuals for Tanghalang Ateneo’s restaging of Sintang Dalisay, directed by Guelan Luarca. They are the resident graphic designer for Barefoot Collaborative, having worked on visuals for their 2022 and 2024 runs of Mula Sa Buwan, Bar Boys, The Last Five Years, and Pride Plays. The rest of their work, give or take a few, include The Half-Life of Marie Curie, Teatro Baguntao’s Ang Bakkhai, Positive Space’s Stop Kiss, Mad Child Productions’ Far Away, Guelan Luarca’s Corridors, Dogsblood, and The House of Baluyot, Tanghalang Ateneo’s Ang Mga Pag-Ibig nina Elias at Salome, Dolorosa, Alpha Kappa Omega, and Janus Silang 2, and multiple posters for the Virgin Labfest.
