Katherine Mae Gonzales Sabate (Katte Sabate) is currently the Director for Academic Affairs, an Assistant Professor for Performing Arts, and Artistic Director of Guang Ming Theatre Ensemble. She is also a Cum Laude graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts and Master of Arts in Theater Arts at the University of the Philippines - Diliman.

She returned home to the Philippines in 2015 and has devoted full-time teaching with Guang Ming College - Tagayatya, in nurturing artist- scholars from all over the Philippines. She has continued practicing her craft through freelance projects in theatre, TV, and film as an actor, director, and dramaturg and during the pandemic, she also has explored acting and directing for the virtual platform as a core member of Relive Your Passion Ph and a contributor to fund raising projects of NGOs like Teach for the Philippines.

Her recent performance projects include Kanakan-Balintagos’ Ang Paraan ng Paglipad; Nazer Salcedo’s Ang Awit ng Dalagang Marmol; Delphine Buencamino’s devised work, Ang Mga Kwento Natin; Jai Nacionales’ Pedagohiya;  Koryolab (Cultural Center of the Philippines); virtual performances with RYP for Chris Martinez’  Last Order Sa Penguin, Pat Valera’s  Mga Lobo Tulad ng Buwan, and Rody Vera’s Ang Unang Aswang;  TV Commercials for Netflix Ph, Nestlé Koko Krunch, Home Credit, Minola and Tide; and film and tv character roles for Daddy’s Gurl, Miss Granny, All You Need is Pag-ibig, Cinemalaya’s Requieme, and iWantTV’s Sleep with Me.
