Jon took up Theater Arts in the University of the Philippines. He trained under Dulaang UP and has since worked with various theater companies.

His professional theater credits include: Disney's Newsies, A Christmas Carol (9 Works Theatrical & Globe Live), Lualhati Bautista's Dekada 70 (Black Box Productions), William (PETA), Himala: Isang Musikal (Sandbox & 9 Works Theatrical), Ang Huling El Bimbo (Full House Theater) and an opera under Musicartes Manila entitled The Medium by Menotti.

He was also in  Mula Sa Buwan, and recently appeared in PETA’s Walang Aray. Jon received recognition as Best Featured Actor in a Musical in Philstage's Gawad Buhay Awards 2018 and 2023 for Eto na! Musika nAPO and Dekada 70, respectively.
