J-MEE KATANYAG is a senior Artist-Teacher from the Philippine Educational Theater Association. She is both a writer and an actor who is also trained in theater organizing, production work, facilitating, and designing curriculum for Children/Young People’s Theater and Creative Writing Workshops.

She was sent as one of the Youth Artist-Teacher representatives for the 8th Young IDEA (International Drama/Theater Education Association) in Paris, France in 2013, and was also one of PETA’s representatives to the E-Motive Cultural Exchange program in Spain 2015.

In June 2019, she completed a 40-day performance collaboration with Kirari Cultural Centre of Fujimi, Japan, titled, Kinball, which she participated both as a Co-Playwright and a Performer.  

J-mee is also a freelance actor and writer for film, commercials, online content, and Filipino television drama series.  She recently concluded head writing for GMA’s trending and award-winning historical portal fantasy Maria Clara at Ibarra.  Currently, she is furthering her expertise by pursuing a course on Decolonizing Curatorial and Artistic Practices at Berlin's Node Center Curatorial Studies Online.
