PROFILE
Actor, Singer, and Voice Teacher
Gimbey dela Cruz is a versatile performer, educator, and voice coach with a deep-rooted passion for the arts. Holding double degrees in Music Education from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines and Musical Theatre from LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, Gimbey has carved a notable career in both performance and teaching over the past two decades.
Renowned for her undefeated success in the Filipino-Chinese singing competition scene, Gimbey brings a wealth of experience and skill to her work. Her teaching philosophy centers on an evidence-based approach that prioritizes vocal health and technique, along with a strong commitment to creating a gender-affirming environment for her students.
Currently, she serves as the voice coach for PETA Theater's sold-out production One More Chance and stars as Boss Mama in Barefoot Theatre Collaborative’s hit musical Bar Boys.
Beyond the stage, Gimbey is dedicated to community outreach, frequently offering pop-up vocal classes to make her expertise accessible to a wider audience. She finds deep fulfillment in helping students discover and express their voices, a process her students often describe as "magic." Gimbey likens her approach to that of a watchmaker, with an innate ability to fine-tune each voice to its fullest potential.
This unique combination of technical skill, passion, and a nurturing teaching style has made Gimbey dela Cruz a respected and beloved figure in the arts community.
