After receiving his undergraduate studies in Keio University in Japan where he majored in History, Franco began his career in Television co-hosting for the dance show “Eezy Dancing”, of ABC 5 in 1996. Soon after, he co-hosted the highly rated dance show “Keep On Dancing” of ABS-CBN in 1998.
Franco found his calling in theatre when was tapped to play the role of Bharata, the youngest brother of Rama in the renowned Philippine production of Rama at Sita in 1999. His other notable stage performances are, Floy Quintos’ LIVES, Trumpets’ productions of Honk, The Ugly Duckling, for which he garnered the “2004 Aliw Award for Best Actor in a Musical” and Joseph the Dreamer (2006 & 2009). Dulaang UP’s St. Louis Loves Dem Filipinos the Musical and Isang Panaginip na Fili, for which he won the “2009 Aliw Award for Best Actor in a Musical”. Tanghalang Pilipino’s Banaag at Sikat, CCP’s Virgin Labfest’s Isa Pang Soap Opera, Repertory Philippines’ Sweeney Todd. Franco essayed the role of Antonius in DLSU’s centennial production A Fire In The Soul. He also appeared in 9Works Theatrical’s A Christmas Carol, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown and Grease.
He is best known for playing the role of Vice President Albert Hernandez in ABS-CBN’s FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Atty. Dante Pugong in The Broken Marriage Vow, and Carlos Banela in 2 Good 2 Be True. He was recently seen in iWantTFC’s Teen Clash. Franco is currently working on ABS-CBN and VIU's What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?
Franco’s film credits are Kimmy Dora and the Temple Of Kiyeme, Oh My Girl, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, Anatomiya Ng Korupsyon and Maledicto.
Franco also performed in concerts as a solo artist Franco Presents Franco and Franco With You at the Music Museum. He also performed in One for the Soul in 1999 and One - a soul inspiring concert in 2003. Franco returned to the concert scene in 2018 at the CCP with his wife Ayen in their sold-out show Kitang Dalawa. He was recently part of CCP’s Out-Of-The-Box Isang Gabi Ng Sarsuwela. He will be soon seen in Mr. Streisand.
Besides theater, television and film, Franco has two recorded albums under his belt, beginning with his self-titled album in 1999 and With You in 2002. He was also in the original cast recording of Rama at Sita, St. Louis Loves Dem Filipinos and A Fire In The Soul.
